Tidy Books set to grow with Goldman Sachs and UCL

Tidy Books, has been selected to join the UK’s most prestigious business growth programme; Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses at UCL.

The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programme helps small businesses expand and develop by providing business and management training, mentoring  and networking at one of the world’s top universities; UCL.

Tidy Books is poised for faster and further growth.  CEO and founder Geraldine Grandidier said; “The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programme is a brilliant opportunity for our ambitious company to develop into the next global brand.  Tidy Books has grown organically and profitably so far and is now seeking investment.  I’m very excited to be taking Tidy Books to the next level with help from some of the best business minds.”

Geraldine Grandidier began Tidy Books in 2004 in her violin maker’s workshop with £500.  Her innovative children’s bookcase encourages children to read and fills a gap in the market. Tidy Books has grown by 30% in the last 3 years and is sold all over the world; stocked in John Lewis and Amazon US among many other retailers.  Geraldine has since added more children’s storage designs to the Tidy Books family, all original concepts designed to encourage independence in children, look great in the home and finished in an eco-friendly water lacquer.

10,000 Small Businesses is funded by Goldman Sachs and aims to help small businesses release their potential through access to experts that help remove the barriers to growth.  The UK programme is based on a highly successful 10,000 Small Businesses programme in the US.

About 10,000 Small Businesses UK

10,000 Small Businesses UK

10,000 Small Businesses in the UK is an initiative to unlock the growth and job creation potential of small businesses and social enterprises across the United Kingdom through providing the resources they need to grow, including greater access to business education and business support services. It is based on the broadly held view of leading experts that a combination of education and support services best addresses the barriers to growth for small businesses.

The programme is based on an innovative and successful approach to supporting entrepreneurs, as developed through the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women initiative and the 10,000 Small Businesses programme launched in the United States in 2009. A programme tailored specifically for the UK market was brought to Yorkshire in 2010 and then to the North West of England in 2011, the Midlands in autumn 2011 and London in early 2012. Programme partners include Saïd Business School (University of Oxford), Leeds University Business School, Manchester Metropolitan University Business School, Aston University Business School and University College London.

10,000 Small Businesses in the UK is funded by Goldman Sachs and the Goldman Sachs Foundation.
