GERALDINE GRANDIDIER, CEO OF TIDY BOOKS NAMED FINALIST IN 10TH ANNUAL STEVIE AWARDS FOR WOMEN IN BUSINESS

Stevie Awards Winners to Be Announced in New York on November 8

London, UK– Oct 14th 2013 – GERALDINE GRANDIDIER, CEO OF TIDY BOOKS was named a Finalist in the Female Entrepreneur of the Year category in the 10th annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business, and will ultimately be a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Stevie Award winner in the program.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees and the companies they run – worldwide.  The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.

More than 1,200 entries were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Communications Campaign of the Year.  Tidy Books is a Finalist in the Female Entrepreneur of the Year in Europe, the Middle East & Africa category.

Not many women make the leap from violin making to manufacturing for a global market, but Geraldine Grandidier, Tidy Books’ CEO found an untapped niche in the market for her innovative front –facing children’s bookcase for the home.  Geraldine started Tidy Books in 2004 with just $750 and no business experience, to build an international brand with a range of original kid’s storage products that are scalable to mass production.

“Geraldine has struck a chord with parents who want their children to curl up with a book, just like they did as children, and her achievement in winning a Stevie Award Nomination is a testament to great ideas.” Ruth Duncan, PR & Marketer, Tidy Books.

Finalists were chosen by more than 140 business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging.  More than 90 members of the five final judging committees will determine the Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award placements from among the Finalists during final judging.

“For 10 years we have been recognizing the achievements of women in business, and this year’s nominations were the most impressive class the judges have ever reviewed,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of the Stevie Awards.  “We look forward to seeing the final judges’ decisions and honoring this year’s Stevie winners in New York next month.”

“As Tidy Books enters a period of fast growth, winning a Stevie Award for Female Entrepreneur is brilliant recognition of Geraldine’s innovative approach to business and her ambition to put a Tidy Books Bookcase in every child’s bedroom!” Ruth Duncan, PR & Marketer, Tidy Books
