Small Business Saturday takes place in the US on Sat Nov 30th, comes the day after the traditional Black Friday sale day and offers customers an alternative way to shop; choosing small businesses over large retail chains.

Evidence shows that more customers are planning to spend their dollars with independent retailers,  up from 27% last year to 35% this year according to the Deluxe Annual Shopping Survey, Forbes,  to the estimated value of $5.5 billion last year according to Amex.

Tidy Books is a small independent company, set up by violin maker and mom, Geraldine Grandidier who created the first Tidy Books bookcase for her daughter and reinvented the bookcase for children.  Tidy Books’ bookcase is innovatively designed to encourage kids to pick up books and get into reading.  Use Code SBIZ25 at the checkout

Geraldine Grandidier, Tidy Books CEO, said:  “We are proud to take part in Shop  –a healthy small business market gives customers a more interesting choice, and they get the personal service they might not get elsewhere.“

Small Business Saturday is supported by Amex and Twitter amongst other larger corporations, and is the growing alternative to the Black Friday and Cyber Monday Sales.

Since creating the bookcase, Geraldine has added more children’s storage ideas to the award winning Tidy Books range, which are made from sustainable wood and finished in an eco-friendly water lacquer.  Tidy Books is offering a special Small Business Saturday promotion on the Tidy Books website.
