Children’s ‘first libraries’ now in Harrods and Selfridges

We’re proud to be here!

Luxury department stores, Harrods and Selfridges are now selling children’s portable wooden bookcases which are designed by a mum to get kids reading.   Tidy Books’ award winning children’s book boxes will be sold alongside children’s books, making it simple for busy parents to select a gift of books and a Tidy Books book box to store them in, and creating an ideal first library for a toddler.

Tidy Books, a small East London based business, sells its children’s bookcases, book boxes and other children’s storage designs around the world.  Established in 2004 by Geraldine Grandidier, who created the bookcase designs for her own children, Tidy Books has cemented its reputation for quality and original design, winning many awards and selling over 50,000 bookcases in the UK and abroad.

Harrods and Selfridges attract shoppers from around the world, with over 300,000 visiting Harrods at peak times, and Selfridges has been voted World’s Best Department Store for the 3rd consecutive year in 2014.*

The Tidy Books Box displays the front covers of books, making it easy for young children to see and choose a book independetly, building their love of books and reading.  It is made from FSC sustainable wood, and finished in an eco-friendly water lacquer which is better for the planet and the producers.

The Tidy Books Box is available in Harrods and Selfridges in a white or blue finish, and is sold through WHSmith Travel concessions.

Tidy Books founder and CEO Geraldine Grandidier said; “Harrods and Selfridges’ discerning shoppers are looking for the best designs, and many parents and grandparents want a classic gift to begin their children’s library. Parents tell us too, that they want their children to read real books, as they did in their own childhoods, and the Tidy Books Box fits that bill perfectly”
